Selection Considerations for Pressure Cooker (Part 1)

1. Explosion-proof safety design

The priority concern when choosing stainless steel pressure cooker is whether there are multiple protection. For example:

  • Multiple safety relief design

  • Automatic pressure relief function

  • Explosion proof and pressure relief equipment

  • Other explosion-proof gate

  • Are there any safety lock devices that prevent the lid from opening when the stainless pressure cooker is under pressure?


Tips: Some pressure cookers are also equipped with the last explosion-proof barrier, that is, if the pressure in the pot reaches the limit and the exhaust pressure relief hole happens to be blocked, the pressure cooker lid safety valve will automatically deflate.


2. Tightness of pot lid

Stainless pressure cooker produces pressure to cook after the lid is sealed, so the lid tightness is very important. Pay attention to whether there is special tenon design for the edge, lid and body of the pot; whether the rubber ring (which is the key to the gas density of a stainless pressure cooker) in the pot lid is in good condition.


3. Silicone ring

Most of the pressure cookers have a silicone ring on the edge of the pressure cooker to make a complete seal inside the pot completely, which is the key to the gas density of the stainless pressure cooker. The silicone ring is consumable that should be replaced regularly to ensure effectiveness and safety.


Reminder: When cleaning, be sure to check the silicone ring for rupture or hardening, and if damaged, be sure to replace it with a new one to avoid high-temperature steam leaking out of the side of the pot to burn your arm and affect the cooking time and taste of the ingredients.


4. Material of stainless pressure cooker :

Good stainless steel that can withstand high temperatures and pressures and conducts heat quickly so that you can save time and effort. In addition, stainless steel will not react to acidic food.
