How to Use a Pressure Cooker

The pressure cooker shows its advantages and durability only when it is used correctly. The pressure cooker should be used according to the following methods.

1. Rub oil

The seal ring of the new pressure cooker which has not been used has higher elasticity. A small amount of food oil can be added on the top and bottom of the pot body to facilitate the first opening and closing. Before each use, the pot cover, body and handle should be cleaned to facilitate closing the lid.

2. Put the food in

Food and water should not exceed four fifths of the pot capacity, and water or soup should not be less than 400 ml (about two bowls).

3. Close the lid

(1) Before closing the lid, check whether the exhaust pipe is unblocked and the anti-blocking cover is clean, whether the safety valve is in good condition, whether the float can move up and down freely and is in the falling position.

(2) Put the pot lid on the pan and fix the pan body. Let the lid rotate in clockwise direction as shown in the figure until the upper and lower handles are completely overlapped. At this time, it is just moved to the working position and the float valve is fully exposed.

4. Turn up the heat

After the cover is closed, it can be heated with high fire. When a small amount of steam is slowly discharged from the exhaust pipe, the pressure limiting valve is fastened to the exhaust pipe, and then the float will rise until the exhaust pipe "hisses". The furnace temperature can be appropriately reduced to maintain the exhaust until the cooking is finished.

5. Cool and bleed

After cooking, natural cooling can be carried out at room temperature. If you want to eat immediately, you can use forced cooling method (i.e. water pouring or immersion in water) to depressurize. After cooling, the pressure limiting valve can be gently raised to release the remaining gas.

6. Open the lid

If there is no steam discharged from the exhaust pipe, if the float falls down, the lid can be opened anticlockwise. If the float does not fall down, it proves that there is still pressure in the pot. At this time, the air pressure interlock device will play a safety role. It is impossible to open the lid of the pot. Do not open the lid forcefully. Use chopsticks to press down the indicator valve to make the residual gas in the pot clear before opening the lid.
